Artificial intelligence technologies are now at the center of our lives. Even social media applications are now starting to offer AI recommendation systems. In this sense, YouTube has started trials for a new ai feature. Accordingly, YouTube is planning to introduce an interesting AI feature such as skipping chapters with double-tap on mobile. In other words, the habit of skipping unnecessary parts of the video with a double tap, which we all use, becomes a useful feature.
Skipping chapters with ai is coming for YouTube
YouTube has started experimenting with ai features. On the one hand, the fact that Sprotify has become a YouTube competitor with its music clips seems to have led the platform to improve itself. With the new YouTube ai feature, it will now be possible to skipping chapters you don’t want to watch in a video.
On YouTube mobile, it is possible to skip a part of the video with a double tap on the screen. After this double tap, the YouTube ai feature will give the user a recommendation of the chapters they want to skip. Thus, the user will have the opportunity to skip not only a short section in the video, but also the sections they want.
In fact, this is where YouTube creators will be able to determine the recommendations for skipping chapters. The AI will itself categorize the content into chapter if the creator has not made a recommendation. The AI will also give recommendations to users based on these sections.
However, YouTube has some concerns about this. Accordingly, users have the opportunity to skip important moments of the content with the skipping feature with ai. This is not a very positive situation for content creators. For now, the feature is being tested in the US among very limited YouTube Premium users.
Chapter skipping with YouTube will also allow users to consume YouTube content much faster. YouTube is also introducing a new remix option for Shorts videos. Accordingly, creators will have the opportunity to add their own footage to remixes of shorts videos.
Do you think YouTube’s ai chapter skipping feature can improve the video content consumption experience? We look forward to your comments and opinions.
